I'll start with a slight introduction of who I am. My name is Nick Veenhof and I just graduated as a Bachelor in ICT with specialization in the webdevelopment domain at Kaho Sint-Lieven and a big fan of open source projects and communities. Having experience in PHP domain for quite some years and having done some Drupal projects when studying made me interested in applying for a job with Krimson as Junior Drupal Developer. In a few days after I was accepted (to be exact, 2 days!) I was bombed into the Drupal community world, in Hungary. Learning time!

So enough about me, more about Drupalcon and Hungary!

It has been a pleasant week already, visiting some of the touristic sites that Budapest has. I must say that it was surprisingly calm and relaxing in the capital of this country. Not much Drupalpeople around in the streets, yet! On the other hand, this was the perfect opportunity to get to know my colleagues and be overloaded with a vast amount of Drupal information! Taxonomy, Views, CCK, Panels, Druplicon are standard vocabulary. Webchick, Chx, KingOfDanmark, dries and others are (in)famous drupalees.

On to Szeged, going with a minivan that was arranged by the conference we were dropped off at Hotel Korona. Straight after installing everything we went out to search for other 'Drupalees' at the pre-con event, and the atmosphere was set when we found them! I met alot of interesting and international people that drew my attention. I decided to fully throw myself into this community and I think that's a good choice. Not only because it will be my job now, but because I want to participate actively as a person, not as a function.

I hope to tell you more about what I learned these days soon! And if you're interested, I'm at the Drupalcon and always glad to meet you there!

Still a secret, more to come soon.
