Bruno is a self educated web developer & system administrator who juggles Drupal deployments, theming & usability issues. He has a very deep interest in applying social media techniques to collaborative news sites.
While studying journalism in Ghent and Utrecht, Bruno started to mess around with html & css in 2000. Once he built a few static websites, he discovered that a lot more could be done by mixing in databases and a bit of programming. After some CMS experiences (most notably with Spip, a French content management system) he discovered Drupal in 2005 when looking for software to manage the new Indymedia.be website. He’s been hooked to it ever since.
At Indymedia.be, where he works part-time, Bruno is responsible for the development & maintenance of the websites. He also performs some system administration tasks, in close collaboration with a group of volunteers. Drupal has played an important role for Indymedia.be, enabling them to run a powerful and solid website, while at the same time allowing all sorts of customisations to suit their needs.
Apart from Indymedia.be, has Bruno also worked for several ngo’s and non profit organisations during the last few years. Either as an in-house webmaster/developer or as a freelancer, he was involved with content managment, online campaign development, website (re)design and training of content contributors.
At Krimson, Bruno is mainly responsible for Drupal deployments & theming. He also looks after equipment maintenance, making the servers hum smoothly with Ubuntu and Debian GNU/Linux. His background in journalism allows him to take on some content managment tasks for clients and to join them in thinking about content organisation and presentation.
